How these prices work

Express lane tolls are dynamic: the operator raises the price as traffic builds, to keep the lanes moving, and lowers it when the road is quiet. Each price holds for a few minutes and the page shows until when. The 95 Express Lanes are reversible: they carry traffic north in the morning and south later in the day, so one direction shows as closed.

The signs at each entrance post the price that applies to you, and they come first. Who rides free (carpools, buses, motorcycles) depends on the lane and your transponder setting; check the operator's rules before you count on it.

Coming next

Entry-to-exit prices for the other big fixed-price toll roads, from each authority's own rate table: Florida's Turnpike, the Illinois Tollway and the Ohio Turnpike first. Until then, every tolled road, bridge and tunnel and the transponders each one takes are on toll roads and transponders.
