As part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project, the ramp from I-71 North to Second Street will be closed for demolition and reconstruction. The closure will go into effect July 16, 2026, and will remain in effect through late fall of 2028. Motorists will be detoured by way of I-75 North to the Fifth Street exit (Exit 1C) and Race Street to Second Street.

There will only be daytime lane closures, when necessary, but majority of daytime work will be along the shoulder and in the median.
